Essentially, I’m paid to people-watch
I am a qualitative researcher engaged in the study of the relationship between everyday lives and mass socio-economic change. I am Cheshire based though I spend a lot of time ‘in the field’ in towns and cities across the UK. For the most part my research is face to face research, though I am also a heavy user of secondary sources such as anthropological studies, marketing theory, networks and complexity thinking, demographic statistics and opinion polling. I work as a freelancer for a number of qualitative agencies, think-tanks and other organisations interested in social change.
