OK, it's Christmas coming up. All those images of robins on snowmen and Father Christmas on a reindeer pulled sleigh are deluding my three year old that it always snows in winter here. Heavily. Mmmm, not so. Perhaps I am still living with the disappointment of this realisation myself and that's secretly why I am concerned about climate change. The weather has never quite lived up to my childhood expectations. What about skating on the Thames? What hot summer days messing about in boats? In fact, perhaps our hideous household carbon footprint is a national conspiracy to change climate back to the good old days of hot summers, freezing winters and all the proper rituals inbetween. Sadly I know that climate change actually means climate chaos and it will make us even more nostalgic for children's storybook seasonality. Behold a generation of confused children arriving somewhere near you circa 2050.
